What happens when both have an equal amount of votes?

If you do that, you'll have more people voting in the last minute to avoid two party polls. Who knows what would've happened if the first votes went to Margrove and Bazzano, everyone would vote to either support a fellow Astaean or a non-Astraean. Similar to the current situation..
When the votes of others are unknown, you would've voted for yourself, I would, Quiris would and Everard would. At that point the first to get three votes wins. All bets are open, so to say.

If you want to rule out poll-affecting tricks, we'd have to vote through private messages.

but you can't see who got how many votes until you voted yourself, changing it afterwards just so one can "sell" his vote to the one who wants to win the most seems right for the medieval times but feels wrong outside of the RP

I believe we miss one vote, and there's only 30 minutes left.

I do agree that this vote cancelling is becoming an issue and it feels incredibly gamey. While I don't mind someone changing their vote in principle, especially if a tie develops, I do care when people game this system in an attempt control the vote.

I propose we switch to a RP-post format simply to avoid another incident of this cycle.

Then how do we control the sly votes? If we do it IC, we also need a scene.

Honestly, I don't see the fuss and it makes voting less interesting.

If I remember correctly, disabling vote cancelling from the beginning is possible from the options of setting up a poll.

That may have to be done, although I still think we -should- have the chance to change our votes. It's just unfortunate when that is exploited.


Anyway, it seems I started the poll a day early based on Mordred's calendar in the sticky. Sooo... 24 hours to go!  

Since there is still one vote outstanding, I tried to just cancel vote switching. The poll can't be modified once there are votes.

It's still interesting to know what happens in a tie for the Governor-poll. But alright, I guess I'll only make a few people angry if I have some fun.

I must admit I have little problem with Valdir trying to game the election, it just means that fewer people will trust him in the future and in Council settings, trust is like gold.

In the case of a true tie however, then the former Governor will sit again.

And if a tie is between two runner-ups?

I'll flip a coin. Or rather Florian will.

Also when the Governor is elected, I have 3 NPCs who wish to speak at the next meeting.

I suspected it'd work like that..and luckily these votes are anonymous.
