The title says it all really!

Just want to give you guys a heads up that I will no longer participate in Aftermath Reborn. Its of no fault of anyone here or of anything that has transpired over AR's short life, its simply a lack of interest thats making me leave the game and make room for anyone else that wishes to take my place. I know that Afternath probably wouldnt have started back up if it hadnt been for my insistence, and im glad that Mordred was able to reform the system to make the old RP work again. But to be honest, even though I thought I liked the idea of this mini meta game we have going on, ive began to lose interest to the point that updating the orders of my character has become more of a chore than something I enjoy doing. And thus I believe that its probably time to throw in the towel and let a new player come in and take over from where I left off (if there is one that is!)

As for Andros himself, you can carry on using him as an NPC character if you'd like, or you can just let him leave the RP all together. Either way is fine by me. I have grown attached to him though, and I can ensure you that his life has only just begun as far as im concerned. I have big plans and he is very much a part of them. Stay tuned and I may just present you with previews of what im working on

Its been a pleasure RPing with you here on AR and I wish it all the best for the future, and of course to its players.

Well... it's been made rather clear that my continued participation is neither desired nor acceptable.

Tysha's actions and words are simply ignored so that she can be viewed as the villain for your PCs' stories. Hating Tysha because the Horde was tripled in strength is lunacy.

On the game side, I know there's simply a desire to harm me for a dislike of me OOCly. That's... unfortunate. The lack of activity by PCs is troubling as well, and when actions are taken, you scheme to use the Council to make the game unplayable? I know that's largely due to the above reason, but, seriously?

An NPC would be more desirable, apparently. Enjoy it, I'm sure the worst it will do is raid every turn...

There's no desire to harm or dislike you OOCly.. every PC is active through IC scenes and it's normal that we'd try to halt someone's advancement.

Your not the villian in my PC story, the only thing that could hint that is my bridge scene (which only four PC's could see) and that was because you ignored my pm requesting passage.

I'm lost as to why you would take it all so personal.

This was rather unexpected.

Simon Lane's main story arc is simply trying to reclaim his home in the North (Hex 16). While I did change his character from being an isolationist to one who participates in Steppe affairs (it would seem boring otherwise), his main goal still remains.

It is true that Simon Lane is not Countess Tysha's number one fan as of the present timeframe. There may have been attempts to reconcile, but Simon simply does not care or it was forgotten about OCC. (The latter which I regret and apologize for.) However, Tysha is no villain or nemesis of Count Lane. She may very well be a victim of circumstance.

If I had to be critical OCC, it would be the massive amount of PMs being traded. Other than that, there's no reason to dislike you whatsoever.

Regarding lack of player activity, chances are most of them are done nowadays in the secret places. Every now and then there may be a public event or story, but otherwise it's back to the weekly orders or schemes.

When there's any sort of game or roleplay, especially with competitive elements, there will be those reveling in victory or in the despairing in the depths of defeat. Characters will rise and fall, this is natural of any story. In the words of Javier Kristoph Doyle, the outcome does not matter, it is simply the attitude toward it.

The question I pose now is put forth simply.

What exactly, as in specifics, is driving you away from the roleplay? Is it the perception of OCC hate? Is is due to your poor starting location IC? Is it that IC, other nobles may disapprove your actions?

I'm majoring in Psychology. Trust me, everything I say is BS. (Tis was a poor attempt at a joke. Serious, in-depth discussion can resolve these problems.)

taking OOC comments and let them influence you IC actions is just not the way to go. I got approached OOC as well and asked why Tysha hates Vincent (or the other way around), I always said that there is no hate from my side, the IC comments I made were of political nature and so are only polemic. Furthermore I never got approached by Tysha to resolve the matter. I as well have never approached Tysha which is also bad but ,as I said, there is no trouble from my side and Tysha is quite far away.

I think we should stop saying that OOC reasons made someone say or do anything against another Character. If we continue down that path then we will have to explain the reason behind everything we do because someone feels hurt or deceived.

We are all human and we RP humans in another timeframe. I think no one should be allowed to say "you said that because you don't like me OOC", humans make errors and humans have their own free will and hidden agendas even beyond the ones we let our allies know. So every action or reaction a Character takes is an expression of this Character and has nothing to do with OOC matters.

And these Characters are all unique, some of them will not flinch if you go around their country and murder children but be furious when you befoul their God. So do not expect everyone to react like you would. We (the RP'ers) come from different Countrys or even continents and have had a very different life so each of us reacts differently to treason or lies.

Sorry that I never replied before now, I just didn't really know what to say. I had seen it coming for a while, but even then it still surprises me. I do hope you'll reconsider and return, but I do understand if you choose not to.

Just remember you can take some time out, Tysha will still be around and can be slotted in again in the future as with all retired PCs.

For a myriad of reasons, I've decided to retire as well. It's not related to what's been discussed in here or the fact that I was on the losing side of a siege or whatever. Simply put, I think I had different expectations coming into this game and I lack the interest to justify continued effort on my part.

I intend to keep up in AKD, so you guys can find me there. Mordred, given recent events, Rolando is inclined to become rather isolationist, so you can make him into a NPC if you like... or not.

I'm sorry that you're going. But, if it's ok to ask, what were you expecting?

He was expecting more of a raiding culture and a different reaction to vassalization. Despite my attempt to put it into the Steppe context it seems he just doesn't play without Tysha. Seeing as she brought him to Pendor in the first place.

That's really an unfair statement. My decision to leave is entirely my own. Enough has already been said about Tysha, there's no need to pin my departure on her. Besides which, I don't appreciate being made to sound like I simply fail to understand the "context". That's unnecessary.

Honestly, I don't feel the need to get into the exact reasoning behind my departure. I wasn't having as much fun here as AKD (or the numerous other RPs I participate in, which, for the record, don't involve Tysha). That's not a snipe at those of you who are, we just have different tastes. Let's leave it at that.
