So.. here is the version of the lore being used in this;

Year 374 AF (After Founding) - Year of Unification
380 AF - Siege of Javiksholm, Aelfwine Affair
381 AF - Noble Wars begin
383 AF - Battle of the Raven. Poinsbruk and surrounding villages destroyed. Silvermist Rangers and Dragons blamed by some.
383AF - Death of the Venerable Justicar
384AF - Initiation of the new Venerable Justicar
384 AF - Battle of the Steppe, Clarion Call enforces independence from Silvermists. Silvermists outlawed. Remnants divide into two factions and flee into Larian Woods and to Amala.
385 AF - Charter of Marleons: Restricts Knighthood Orders, seizes much property. Orders are evicted from most cities. King signs Charter. Order of the Lion secretly reformed by many signatories to guarantee Charter.
June 17th 385AF - Today : 10 days following the signing of the Charter of Marleons.

The Noble Wars

Tired of multiple perceived slights and threats, and highly concerned about the leaked minutes of the Order Council of 380, Duke Aelfwine drafted the Charter of Marleons which demanded greater rights and protections for the Nobility of Pendor and the dramatic curbing of the power of the Orders. The Knighthood Orders however refused to be signatories, and thus the Noble Wars began. For the first two years were fairly quiet as both sides tried to manouver into a position of strength. Aelfwine sent urgent requests for assistance to the other nobility but was mostly ignored, none wanting to openly challenge such a powerful military threat as the Knighthood Orders.

The Duke of Marleons however impatiently raised his levies and engaged a significant force of Silvermist ultimately losing the field battle and being forced to withdraw to Marleons. There the Silvermists laid siege and looked to put a swift end to the war.

Meanwhile in Poinsbruk, the Dragons repeatedly insulted and provoked finally responded in force and entered Poinsbruk in force. Initially the occupation was fairly peaceable but the Duke of Poinsbruk concerned about this build up of military power inside his city ordered the removal of both Silvermists and Dragons. The Dragons, already incensed over their treatment in a home city of Ravenstern declared Duke Aldamar incapable and removed him from power. A day later the Dragons formally declared war of the Order of the Silvermists. They invited the nobility of Ravenstern to enter the war also, but none did, fearing their true intentions and concerned about power vacuum in Poinsbruk.

Worried about the rapid militarisation of their border, the Silvermists were forced to move half of their besieging forces to Poinsbruk and lay siege to that city also. Meanwhile Silvermist allies from the Legion were able to lift the Snake Cult siege of Cez and marched north as quickly as they could.

383 the war for Poinsbruk took a turn for the worse and thousands of Mystmountains poured out of the mountains, either made bold by the struggles of their southern neighbours or else persuaded by other powers to invade. They made for Poinsbruk, destroying all the local villages and butchering the inhabitants. The Dragons, torn between fighting their nemesis and preserving the North against Silvermist influence hesitated.

The Silvermists acted on this indecision and launched a full attack on the walls of the city in what would later be called the Battle of the Raven, struggling early to make much headway but eventually gaining a breakthrough when Mastifus was mortally wounded in the fighting. Their leader injured, the Dragons broke and fighting occurred in the city itself. Duke Aldamar, returning from exile was able to negotiate a small reprieve in an vain attempt to save his city. Unfortunately, Mastifus ordered his Dragons to forcibly evacuate the city during the ceasefire and proceeded to order its burning. He died in the flames of the city, unable to escape, supposedly in the shrine with Dragontooth though neither his body nor the sword were ever recovered.

Unable to stop the tide, the Dragons fell back to Rane and began to strike against their mortal enemies, the Mystmountains. Poinsbruk was lost to them however, and the Mystmountains began to settle among its ruins. Blaming the Silvermist leadership for the Mystmountain's sudden aggression, the Clarion Call formally split from the order in late 384, and struggled to contain the barbarian threat to just Poinsbruk, thwarting multiple efforts to cross the river into the Steppe.

The Silvermists decided to abandon their northern flank due to the Dragons being otherwise occupied, and piled their forces in on Marleons, managing to break through the walls and enter the city. Marleons Keep however remained firm.

Alarmed by the destruction of Poinsbruk and the sacking of Marleons, the wider nobility finally reacted, and amassed a significant army under Duke Brennus who marched from Avender and relived the beleaguered Aelfwine. Overwhelmed by the dual Ducal army, the Silvermists were forced back, and crushed at the battle of the Steppe.

The depleted Shadow Legion fell back to Empire lands, and were only saved from destruction themselves through the intervention of the Duke of Cez, pointing out their valiant defence of his city when it needed help the most, and when the rest of Pendor ignored his plight. The Silvermists meanwhile were outlawed and expelled from Pendor. The Gauntlets, eager to entirely wipe their nemesis out sent a significant expedition to Amala to give chase and destroy them.

The Griffons had been commanded personally by the King, and acted in a damage mitigation role throughout the Noble Wars. The King sent significant parties to the court of all the major nobles in Pendor in a bid to calm rising tensions - and as a projection of his own power. The implied threat was acknowledged by all, after the Duke of Torbah found himself stripped of title and exiled when he marched on Singal to throw the Eventide out. They were powerless to act after the attack on Marleons however, and sympathy fell increasingly for the nobility as the infractions against them grew, and there are even some suggestions that Griffons were among the personal guard of the Duke of Avendor at the Battle of the Steppe.

The Venerable Justicar and the Inquisition

Many in Pendor had watched the active intervention of the Dawn at Javoksholm, and had expected the Order to pledge to either side during the Noble War, and seemed to be justified in their expectation in late 383, when they cut ties with the Dragon, and imposed an active blockade of Dragon parties in Western Pendor. Before they could strike in force however, the Venerable Justicar was brutally murdered while at prayer in Avendor and a new Justicar was quickly elected on new years day of 384 while Dawn's attentions were on the north.

The new pontiff ordered the immediate investigation into the murder of his predecessor and determined it to have been the work of heretics and demons. Declaring a new crusade against the Heretics, he called both Dawn and Eventide together to strike against the blight wherever it could be found. The Dawn, eager to strike at their opponent marched on Singal immediately, but before they arrived they received word of a mass culling of infidels in Singal, each heretic being marked by the same sigil on the sole of their foot. The ruthlessness of the purge, and the speed in which it had been done earned the Eventide great prestige within the Astraean church, and the Dawn found their support base crumbling.

The Dawn grandmaster, sensing ill-play announced an inquisition to purge Singal further of suspected traitors. A number of corrupted Eventide knights were found and executed, but the protection the order now enjoyed within the church with their zeal not forgotten, meant that the numbers were far fewer than had been hoped.

One noticeable improvement however was the increased benevolence of the church itself, the New and Loyal Dawn now being the primary power in the Order seemed more inclined to accept Eventide teachings of forward thinking ,and this led to a far more united church among the lay brethren if not among the knights themselves, and the more firebrand found themselves increasingly sidelined meaning that the number of burnings was dramatically reduced.

Phew, done! Tried to keep it as close to AKD lore as I could so that there was more continuity (but more fleshed out, due to the decrease time frame!)

The main thing I reconned was the earlier Mystmountain attacks, which essentially ended the Dragon / Silvermist war, and means that the beginning of Reborn has the Poinsbruk region occupied.

EDIT : It should also be noted that the mass purge of heretics in Singal was actually a mass sacrifice... but this is not widely known outside of the Eventide inner circle.
