Council Session OOC

Due to Pendor having a warrior culture that's persisted through centuries, nobles prepared for the death of their heirs with additional children.

From calculations due to the meta-game from Aftermath, there were 7387 minor nobles in all of Pendor on the eve of the noble wars.

Think at least 6000 of them are free knights. There's plenty of warriors wandering around

Tysha will actually have such a tavern with the prestige of the turn. It fits with the whole 'we're rich but not in land' theme. Save, of course, for Tysha not being rich...

I'm thinking of hosting a tournament next week, before the Governor is elected.

As I mentioned, you don't have to participate..just show up to allow the smallfolk and minor nobility a glimpse of the new lords of the Steppe. Tysha the Lucky showing off her gowns should get you some renown (albeit probably Valdir's)

It isn't just for sports, but if you have the ambition to become the Governor, or would like to win votes on other matters, it could be ICly discussed during the tournament.

You're all welcome to arrive in the tourney thread (and read the last spoiler in the first post).

To avoid a confusing thread, I was thinking that everyone could write signing up and then making camp next to the blacksmiths/fletchers. As I expect no one will actually send their Counts, this should serve perfectly.

No, unless he manages to evade all manner of harm done and is an extraordinarily skilled individual. The melee and joust will take several days to complete, and any injury done causes you to fail the others.

You can try, ofcourse, but you might find the results similar to lethal blows and sharpened daggers in the melee, and a neck-breaking lance-hit in the joust. Shooting arrows with broken arms is likely to be..difficult.

Obviously, having one person compete in all three competitions is unlikely and the simplicity of the dices won't account for possible penalties. That's the only reason I'm saying no, but if you seek an interesting RP opportunity and (quite possible a prestige boost by myself) then sure, why not.

I didn't realize this would involve the near-guarantee of maiming and/or death. Tysha's people have too many responsibilities to take such needless risks!
